The first Olympics of the new millenium was hosted by Sydney in Sept 2000. It was regarded to be the best Olympics ever held. Australia had the opportunity to share with the world some of what Australia meant, as at this moment of time in her 200 odd years of history since that fine day when Captain Cook arrived. This year, on 1 January 2001, Australia also celebrated her 1st 100 Years as a nation. Perhaps Australia is to be like the crew of Star Trek - "to go where no other nation has gone before" in the future to come.
